Program that will take you into the backyard of Torres del Paine National Park, less visited but full of scenic wonders. All you are looking for in Patagonia wilderness : granite walls & towers, sculptured mountains, lakes, rivers, wet lands, glaciers, native tall woods, history, flora, fauna. All the colourful landscapes we are famous for in one corner of the Park. Enjoy a 4x4 safari to get in and out, enjoy a Patagonian Asado al Palo ( bbq ). Go a little further to get a better Patagonian Experience.
Level of effort : Moderate ( some previous experience ) Operating Season : October to April
Day 1. 12:30 Arrive to Punta Arenas, reception by our guide.
Transfer to the city, Lunch at restaurant, short city tour. Transfer to Puerto Natales in a regular Tour by Penguin Colony at Otway sound and Rio Verde small village. 18:30 Program check up at the office. 20:30 Welcome Dinner at restaurant Cristal. Lodging at Hotel in Puerto Natales (***).
Day 2. Puerto Natales / Refugio Dickson
07:00 Breakfast at Hotel. 07:30 Private Transfer to Torres del Paine National Park. 10:00 Arrive at Laguna Amarga. 10:30 Transfer to Lago Paine, in a 4x4 Safari by an old Estancia track ( 2 hrs ). 13:00 Lunch, pic-nic at Lago Paine. 14:00 Trekking to Refugio Dickson ( 3.5 hrs ), with pack horses, along lake Paine, cross Caiquenes river, by pampas and woods.
18:00 arrive to Dickson. Dinner and lodging at Refugio Dickson.
Day 3. Refugio Dickson / Camping Los Perros
07:30 Breakfast. 09:00 Trekking up to camp Los Perros ( 5 hrs ), with pack horses, through the most representative native wood of Patagonia, the moraines of Los Perros lagoon, with the glacier hanging on the mountain wall. Box-Lunch. The camping is in the middle of a lengas wood. Dinner at the camping "Quincho" ( dinning hut ), Lodging in Tents at camp Los Perros.
Day 4. Los Perros / Glaciar Puma / Los Perros / ref Dickson
07:30 Breakfast. 08:30. Half day excursion to glacier Puma ( 3 hrs r/t ), some Ice Hikking. 13:00 Lunch at camping. 14:00 Trekking back to refugio Dickson ( 3.5 hrs ), with the pack horses. Dinner : Asado al Palo ( Lamb Patagonian BBQ ). Lodging at Refugio Dickson.
Day 5. Refugio Dickson / Puerto Natales
07:30 Breakfast. 08:30 Trekking from Dickson to Lago Paine ( 4 hrs ) with pack horses. 12:30 Lunch, pic-nic at Lago Paine. 13:30 4x4 Safari to Laguna Amarga ( 2 hrs ). 16:00 Private Transfer from Laguna Amarga to Puerto Natales ( 2.5 hrs ), transfer to hotel. 20:00 Farewell Dinner at restaurant Cristal. Lodging at Hotel (***).
Day 6. Puerto Natales / Punta Arenas
08:00 Breakfast. 09:00 Private Transfer to Punta Arenas airport or downtown.
